Proxy Firewall is a software utility that combines both firewall and proxy functionalities, providing you with an enhanced online security while you are surfing the Internet or using any application requiring Internet access. Its interface is pretty self-explanatory and very easy to use.

As soon as you install it, you start getting warnings for every program that tries to connect to the Internet, allowing you to deny the connection, to allow it straight away, or to allow it through the Socks Proxy service. Upon the decisions that you make, the program automatically starts feeding its firewall's set of rules. Of course, you can also add your own rules manually.

There are three tabs dedicated to the proxy function. You can either create your own proxy lists by manually adding each of them, or download some of the private ones available. However, downloading them requires signing up to the developer's site, and getting a username and a password. Proxy Firewall is capable of managing both socks and HTTP proxy servers. Moreover, you also have a "Session Log" tab where the entire program's activity is shown, including details such as the time and results for each entry.

Even though this is a free program, once you install it you are asked to register it in order to get updates and technical support. The registration process involves sending them your e-mail address, so that you can receive an Activation Code. You have no choice - if you do not register your copy, you cannot run the program at all. Unfortunately, you are not warned about this before downloading the program. Note also that this is a Beta version. Apart from that, this is an excellent program that performs all the expected functions perfectly.
